Open Call: "somewhere i have never travelled"

We are delighted to announce an open call to somewhere i have never travelled, a group exhibition at Behind VA Shadows in Cambridge, Massachusetts in collaboration with Art + Everywhere.

Curated by Brenda Melgoza Ciardiello and Stéphanie Williams, the exhibition will bring together vibrant work exploring place as memory and memory as place. Ideal work will engage with place as an accumulation of lived moments — a personal geography — drawing on universal themes of longing and nostalgia in order to interrogate the impulse to preserve a moment in time, real or imagined, as an act of self-definition and connection.  

Approached as a poetic site-specific installation, work in any medium will be considered as long as it is suitable for the unique window display at Behind VA Shadows. The “gallery” is a series of windows on Linden Street, off of Mass Ave. in Harvard Square, accessed only visually. We invite…
